Blue Family

Mr. Blue hired us to completely transform his backyard, which required removing two large trees, leveling the ground, and solving a complex drainage issue. We installed an underground drain system to manage rainwater flow across the property.

One of the biggest challenges was the natural trench running across the yard, which we addressed with a custom solution. This was one of three homes in the same subdivision where we installed the same drainage system.

The project included three large catch basins with 6-inch solid PVC pipes and elegant stacked stone retaining walls built on reinforced concrete foundations. Completed in 2007, Mr. Blue remains a loyal client and part of our reference list.

Photos show before-and-after views, highlighting both sides of the yard and the quality of the work. After seeing the results, nearby neighbors also hired us—no references needed.

Dietmar Family

Mr. Dietmar’s Project – Marietta Area

This backyard transformation in the Marietta area was a major undertaking. The original hillside consisted of nothing but rocks and extremely hard ground. Mr. Dietmar Bogk and his wife envisioned a complete makeover, and we brought that vision to life. Following their design, our team—led by our landscape designer from start to finish—installed both the hardscape and landscape elements.

To create usable space, we built Allan Block retaining walls that allowed for a flagstone path, flat areas, and a striking water feature with four ponds, three waterfalls, and small bridges for easy access across the stream. Flagstone steps were added to connect to the basement and a beautiful flagstone patio.

Two additional retaining walls were built on the right side of the house to prevent erosion, using solid concrete footers and reinforced construction to ensure long-term stability. All drain and downspout pipes were buried within and under the walls using solid 4-inch PVC piping to manage water flow safely away from the house.

The final result is a stunning, functional outdoor space. Mr. Dietmar has been a loyal customer for over three years, and we continue to provide regular lawn maintenance services. This project features natural flagstone steps, Allan Block retaining walls, gravel, and Zoysia sod—crafted with durability and beauty in mind.

Thomason Family

Thomason Family Project – December 2006

The Thomason family began their backyard project with us in December 2006, referred by another satisfied client, the Vance family. They had a clear vision, and we helped bring it to life. We started by constructing an Allan Block retaining wall eight feet below the lower level of the house. Before building, we installed 6-inch drainage pipes beneath the wall to manage runoff, as water from neighboring properties flowed directly through the yard.

To resolve the drainage issue, we installed a 100-foot underground pipe system, which worked perfectly. The retaining wall was built using 57 stone gravel, geogrid, silt fabric, and compacted fill dirt, and was completed—along with a new irrigation system—in just 10 days. The wall spans 110 feet in length and reaches up to 6 feet at its highest point.

The project also included a stamped concrete patio, natural flagstone steps, additional flagstone retaining walls, and a 12×12 catch basin at the driveway with a concrete edge to prevent erosion. Finally, we created a safe and level playground area for the children.

The Thomason family was fully satisfied with the results. Their backyard is now flat, functional, and secure—thanks to strategic retaining wall solutions. If you’re considering a similar transformation, our landscape designers can visit your home and provide a free estimate tailored to your needs.

Boltz Family

Mr. Boltz’s Backyard – Roswell, GA

Mr. Boltz has been a valued customer for over four years, continuously investing time and care into improving his backyard. We’ve installed a variety of feature plants, including Weeping Cypress, Blue Atlas Cedar, Japanese Maple, Alberta Spruces, and vibrant flower beds. In addition to landscape design, we also provide regular lawn maintenance for Mr. Boltz and several of his neighbors in the Roswell, Georgia area.

Hardscape work includes brick retaining walls around the pool, beautifully integrated with flagstone steps for access to lower levels. Built in 2006, the brick walls help maintain a flat, usable space and include metal fencing for safety. The retaining walls feature expansion joints, dead man anchors, 57 stone gravel, and perforated drain pipes for durability and water management.

In 2009, we enhanced the poolside with tropical plants, adding color and texture to the space. Small fieldstone edgers and retaining walls were also installed throughout the yard to prevent erosion and enhance visual appeal. Over 40 Yoshino Japanese Cryptomeria trees were planted around the perimeter for privacy—making this space both functional and lush.

Mr. Boltz remains on our reference list, and his contact can be provided during your free estimate visit.

Thurman Family

Lower Level Backyard Transformation

This lower-level backyard was completely transformed into a functional and inviting outdoor space. We built a treated timber retaining wall and added beautiful Crab Orchard flagstone center steps for easy access. The design also includes a custom water feature with bio-falls, skimmer, and ultra-light, creating a serene atmosphere.

A flagstone retaining wall anchors the space, complemented by a chimney, a grill and fridge area, and a stamped concrete patio that mimics natural stone at a lower cost. The result is a cohesive outdoor living area that blends hardscape and landscape beautifully. Before-and-after photos from the deck show the full transformation process and attention to detail in every element.

Vance Family

Front & Backyard Landscaping Project

This project included a full front and backyard upgrade, featuring beautifully designed flowerbeds with Japanese Maple, evergreens, shrubs, and colorful seasonal flowers. In the backyard, we built natural fieldstone steps surrounded by dwarf Mondo grass and evergreen plants, creating a soft, natural look.

We also installed natural flagstone steps and a concrete patio finished with Crab Orchard flagstone for a warm, rustic touch. To complete the space, a dry creek bed was created using river rock and weed control fabric, adding both function and visual interest to the landscape.
